- Comment on The Democrats’ One and Only Union-Busting Governor: Jared Polis 1 day ago:
He continued to negotiate for those workers even after stopping the strike (which is not union busting, the union still exists). You’d have been nothing when prices shot up even more if he let the railroads shut down, too, I bet

That’s a very different privilege, one that is in direct contradiction to the consumer’s right to repair

Developers have been underpaid for years. These increases are not going to them.

It sounds more like he wants to be on the cutting edge developing stuff that hasn’t been done before. Not specifically fixing things wrong in a company because their other employees were too dumb.

Are you under the impression that sales jobs don’t exist?
I have a buddy who works as a sales person selling packaging material to large companies. They’re probably in the girls more than could calling customers like the show did, but still. These jobs do exist.

Nah, people are reaching on this one. There’s a lot of reasons to be mad at Nintendo. Cartoony proportions being a low key hint at GenAI is not one of them
- Comment on GTA 6's delay doesn't mean the games industry's in trouble - it's already dead 3 weeks ago:
Yeah, I do. A bunch of consolidations is AAA companies have left us steps away from a monopoly on publishers. Given the lack of competition, these big companies have gotten lazy and keep releasing the same shit over and over, some of it ripoffs, some of it remasters. People are getting fed up with it and their easy cash cows are now less profitable than they were.
Instead of changing their plans, they’re firing people. Because the only ones in charge are MBAs, not people who know what their products even are.

Another AAA game I want planning to play getting delayed doesn’t say anything about the games industry. Haven’t been excited about a AAA game in many years now. Everything is a bland cookie cutter sequel, remaster, or battle pass loot box multiplayer arena thingy.

It’s a privilege to work for a shitty mega corporation making substandard pay for the skills you have?!
- Comment on From 4chan to the White House: James Ball explains how failing to take games seriously has fed the populist right 3 weeks ago:
This is an incredibly stupid attempt to bring games into a situation or is not involved in at all.
Young men have been driven right because a portion of the left have been really bad with their messaging and like to generalize a bit much about men being the source of social problems, despite young men being just as much victims to the billionaires who have been buying up our politicians to undermine our rights for decades. Society still has an outsized expectation for men to be the providers, despite women overtaking them in college degrees allowing them to often earn more.
The right wing preying on these ostracized people who often frequent gaming communities isn’t them taking gaming seriously. It’s them recognizing a hunting ground for manipulatable desperate people who want some kind of change.

- Comment on Toys ‘R’ Us Live-Action Movie in the Works With Story Kitchen (EXCLUSIVE) 5 weeks ago:
The film, which is in early development, aims to capture that childhood wonder in a modern, fast-paced adventure that taps into the Toys“R”Us brand’s relevance across its more than 70 years in the toy industry
It kind of took a break from being relevant for like 15 years…

Lol, what? Are you pretending like the late 90s was the infancy of gaming? The industry had already collapsed and rebounded like twice by then

You can tell this survey was filled out almost entirely by millennials by this collection. Almost all games that came out during their childhood or their young adult years, except those 2 they’re playing right now.

Of the people that were of age, were able, and did vote, just over half voted for Trump, assuming voting tallies were accurate.
False. He didn’t even win 50% of the people who did vote for president. He only won a plurality.
