- Comment on US Orders Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. to Halt All AI Chip Shipments to China 2 weeks ago:
Taiwan is the largest chip maker in the world. One of the reasons that China doesn’t invade is because they’re also dependent on Taiwan chips. Forcing china to double down on their local industry hinders Taiwan’s security. The US knows this. They’re escalating things in a very tense geopolitical area

This is a pretty stupid thing to do. They’re guaranteeing chinese chip making.

BYD is also a battery company that makes cars. They can afford to lose a little on the car, when they make money overall.
- Comment on Russia reportedly readies submarine cable 'sabotage' 2 months ago:
If I was running a country and preparing to cut cables like that, it would be because I’d infected the enemy with some type of virus that when activated would wreak havoc over their internet. I’d cut the cables immediately before activation. However, I might be smarter than the Russian leadership, and I don’t run a country.

‘Libertarianism isn’t right wing in one country because it’s a magic country where the corporate owned media has brainwashed me to not understanding what actual left wing thought is , and that it has a centuries long history, but I’ll completely ignore that because learning is hard’
- Comment on Mysterious cyberattack took down more than 600,000 routers in the U.S. 5 months ago:
In the last two weeks, Russia had a nuclear warning system bombed and multiple NATO allies stated that it was OK for Ukraine to use their weapon donations to attack Russian territory.
This smells like a Russian attack to say ‘we can do things without bombs’.
I doubt that Russia is stupid enough to do a cyber attack that would stop the capability of future cyber attacks.
- Comment on Minister suggests Canada is considering tariffs on Chinese EVs following U.S. move 5 months ago:
I agree, but that’s a slippery slope. Lots of countries use slavery to make cheap goods. But yes. Slavery in all forms should be abolished
- Comment on Minister suggests Canada is considering tariffs on Chinese EVs following U.S. move 5 months ago:
The US manufacturers get bailed out every 30 years or so, so why there’s a specific reason the most recent time becomes less relevant. What makes BYD specifically so cheap isn’t the government subsidies, which NA manufacturers also get, but it’s vertical integration. BYD is a battery company that started to make cars. They can sell the batteries to the car side of the businesd below cost as long as the final product makes the larger corporation a profit. Tesla for example buys it’s batteries from Panasonic. Panasonic has to make a profit. That makes the Tesla much more expensive than it should be.

These NA car companies always get bailed out. They should’ve been making kei trucks, and small electric cars for ages, but they don’t need to because they’ll just get bailed out if they fail.
These tariffs are another form of a bailout. Maybe instead of bailing these guys out we should nationalize them.
- Comment on The Fallout show's been a pleasant surprise 7 months ago:
I’m going to jump in here. I’ve watched 3 episodes.
Some of the dialogue does feel bad, but in my experience it’s from the vault dwellers. I think it’s intentional.
Goggins playing a smooth af character delivers everything with a smooth confidence. He’s a joy to watch.
The other actors do well. The sets and costumes are great. The plot feels very paint by numbers, but that’s the era we live in.
