I think I understand? Thanks for claring things up, and sorry if I accidentally distracted from the actual topic (although mentioning the bad faith trolling has probably done that more effectively… but whatever)
- Comment on Anon's brother hates concrete 7 months ago:
if even after asking for an explanation your explanation is " try googling it" I’m going to assume you dont want to be understood.
If I’m trolling I’m definitely not doing it consciously. I know “I’m not a troll” is about the most suspicious thing on the internet, especially from a baby account, but sadly I cant be fucked to make a better point

There’s this interesting balance within my MTG group where some guys are happy to devote a fair part of their life to learning all the individual cards by heart. They can go on tangents that are just rows of card names describing a turn (think if the F6 to G8 takes rook babble of chess people). I can’t be fucked, but I still love the hobby, so when we get together its trying to find the middle between all these levels of expertise that works. Overall that went well but there was one guy who flat out told me: “Maby if you would just dedicate a bigger part of your life to the game, we wouldn’t have to bother talking around you so much.” Yeah right. Not everyone makes their hobby into their profession.
That being said, its kinda heartbreaking so many people struggle with just letting their enthusiasm about a certain topic flow. If you’d rather not talk about something because you’re afraid you can’t reel it in, that sucks :(

What’s bad faith trolling? I tried to google it, but struggle to understand

I have a fairly functional form of autism, but I sometimes struggle finding balance in points of interest I get enthusiastic about, and nobody really matches my enthusiasm, even though they try. It often feels like rejection, but this post really puts it in perspective for me. I’m not always reasonable/flexible when I’m like that. Thanks for sharing.
(To give an example related to this post; I wouldn’t assault someone for having a different opinion, but I could definitely debate them with a passion that’s a little out of place and not as reasonable as I’d like to believe it is. “Building with concrete blocks? What is even wrong with you, where you never thought proper construction? What do you mean cheap building costs? People who want to build cheap buildings shouldn’t be allowed to build anyway”.
- Comment on Am I the only one who's "shorts" feed is all basically softcore porn? 7 months ago:
exactly! its not so much that the algo is skewed against us (although…), but mostly the content it has available to it and our lizard brains in general that arn’t helping. (or rather out desire to win the popularity contest and thus manipulate it in a way the algo is sensitive to). Because 90% of the ‘pretty girl’ videos wouldn’t have these stereotypical clickbait dames in them if it didn’t work in the first place
- Comment on Am I the only one who's "shorts" feed is all basically softcore porn? 7 months ago:
agree, I do have some other things in my feed, but I’d definitely say the algorithm has certain preferences.
Probably has to do with most of my interests being pretty nice compared to ‘ooh pretty girl’. So when it compares what I click on it’s easier to find high frequency recommendations based on other peoples likes. I know fuck all about the algo that makes feeds, but my guess is that’s how it works.

I havn’t yet, might later today. But I’m convinced its a gpu thing at this point. Might have bashed the hdmi cable a little to hard in the port trying to install it or something dumb like that. Its the only thing that I can think off that slightly makes sense, as it was working perfectly 5 minutes before, and nothing else has happened (other than plugging in an HDD, and I already tried unplugging that)

You’re pretty much describing the process i went trough, with some altered details. Power outage fried my HDD, ended up replacing it. Suddenly monitor doesn’t work after reconnecting it. Tried the DP cable i had lying around, tried the 2nd HDMI port, both with the same HDMI cable and a different one. Tried a different monitor. (i don’t have a 2nd system I could hook my monitor to, but at this point I’m fairly sure it has to do with the HDMI port of the GPU which I simply don’t have the funds to replace… Might have a guy look at it, maby he knows something I don’t)

maby I should have googled ‘/s’ first… :') At least we now know 31 is NOT the charm.
- Comment on Fix one thing... break another 7 months ago:
Nah :'), at least not the first 30 or so times i tried. Maby 31 is the charm.

it has power. I can use the buttons to select the channel. The only place where my pc seems to recognise it is in the monitor selection screen of my drivers… i cant select it there. Not sure if it recognises the monitor or if its just a ghost from having previously recognised it

Oh, yeah that fixed it!
