Yeah, the real struggle my kids deal with is dyslexia. But I know that even a dyslexic van be bitten by the reading virus so I still have hope.

Jup, Caileeh for sure.
- Comment on Can you read and understand this passage? 2 weeks ago:
Yes. But I van imagine my children being clueless. English is our third language but I think that’s not the issue. They just haven’t read enough. They are consumers and aren’t accustomed to active reading.

- Comment on Is it weird to juggle in the park? 2 weeks ago:
You juggle all you want in any park. Just don’t make it weird. Of there are tombstones in said park, it’s not for juggling.

He’s not wrong. A judge can rule if there’s a trial and that judge will always have to apply the law.

Mastodon isn’t chat. Their Messenger chat is manned with people that answer your questions.

- Comment on There's a new toll I'll have to pay to drive anywhere. 4 months ago:
Mass transit is necessary here because the city has an old layout not designed for cars and so it wouldn’t be able to function if everyone had to drive.
Cities shouldn’t be designed for cars. They should be designed for people. I get it. They’ve added a tax and that’s inconvenient. I agree.
I live in a European city with a medieval layout. I’m happy they started banning cars. Our city is more liveable without than with cars.
- Comment on Is road or rail more expensive? 4 months ago:
Yeah… You’re not speaking generally, are you? Because in most EU countries, rail ise is subsidised.
- Comment on Powdered drink mix without water? Assuming you drink a lot of water. 5 months ago:
Sorry, litteral translation. English isn’t my mother tongue.
It’s about two gallons to get acute symptoms but just drinking loads of water for a long time can get your sodium levels dangerously low. Anyway, just take care. Too much of anything is… too much.
- Comment on Powdered drink mix without water? Assuming you drink a lot of water. 5 months ago:
It’s unhealthy to drink tons of water. Water poisoning is real. When you drink too much water you purge minerals and other useful substances out of your body.

- Comment on Does the USA simply have no food safety standard at all? 5 months ago:
Soup in plastic bags is the standard in most industrial kitchens all over the world.
Especially when you heat them ‘au bain marie’ it’s safe-ish. I don’t store food in plastic containers because even food grade plastic leaches but it’s generally allowed.

It’s a societal problem.

I want to be slung away by a war machine. They should wait until I’m a bit stiff so my ballistic properties would be better.
- Comment on Do rotating plates in microwaves help when heating food? 8 months ago:
I know what you’re trying to say but it just isn’t that simple.
With my mother’s 40 year old microwave the center is the worst spot but mine is just different. How the energy is distributed will differ from device to device.
You can’t know where the standing waves occur so you’ll just have to experiment but I’ll agree that the safest guess is to put your food slightly off centered on the rotating disc.

IE used to be great. But that was when the animals still spoke.
- Comment on Do rotating plates in microwaves help when heating food? 8 months ago:
But nothing really lies in the center. If you put a pie dead center in the microwave, 99,99% of it wouldn’t be in the center. Even the center of the turntable isn’t in the center of the microwave.
- Comment on Do rotating plates in microwaves help when heating food? 8 months ago:
Even in center it will work given that the time you are heating isn’t tiny.
