True, autocorrect switched alcoholic to alcoholist.
- Comment on Is it really worth the BS for a couple more years? 1 week ago:
Generally, you not only live longer but you die with fewer complications. You can be sick for 20 years before you go or live in considerabel health until your last day. People with a healthy life style get sick too but they just have lower odds of getting terminally Ill.

I was raised in a bar. My mother owned it for 40 years. Yes, same customers every day. They were all alcoholist but some of them stopped functioning. My mother Fed them, did their taxes, cut their hair. It’s terrible and sad. The functioning alcoholists had a family to turn home to. I used to be an alcoholist until 10 years ago. My wife had to make me realise that drinking every day, even just one beer a day, is alcoholism.
- Comment on Chat Control 2.0: what if Signal supports user-made Add-ons, one which encrypts all messages? Could that circumvent Chat Control 2.0? 4 weeks ago:
It’ll probably be illegal to use encryption too.

We have these groups of volunteers gathering trash along the roadside. The more they collect the more they can earn for their good cause or their organisation.
They’re being cheap cleanup for the companies that sell trash and by collecting trash they keep the stats down.

I have this awesome Dutch book by Cook & Chemist that lays down basic kitchen principes in a molecular way. Changed my cooking a fair bit.

- Comment on LPT: Go get a shot, now. 2 months ago:
If you really want the vaccine, just follow the advise of your physician. They’ll know or find out wheter you can combine them.
If your a normal, healthy person there is no need to get the vaccine though. I get the flu shot every year because my employer offers it and I’m just a big wussy.
- Comment on LPT: Go get a shot, now. 2 months ago:
Why? Since COVID has become something similar to a flu it’s only advisory for people with high risk profiles to get the vaccine.

- Comment on Any ideas as to why they choose a dinosaur symbol to tell you this? 2 months ago:
Say this is a joke?
The developers chose the dinosaur theme as a reference to the game’s function, a joke that not having an internet connection is equivalent to living in the “prehistoric ages”.
- Comment on California is debating whether or not to remove the bike lane on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge. During the public hearing, a politician was driving his car 2 months ago:
It was scheduled. He could have taken measures, He could have parked for a while . This somehow is his job…
I do take calls in the car but when I need to focus on the call I either ask to call back or park. If I don’t need to focus that means the call isn’t important enough to keep it going for too long.

I’ve found brushes with natural bristles (not sure of the material but the handle is made out of wood) to hit the sweet spot between abrasive and gentil on the coating.
