- Comment on Buzzer-heave misses won't affect NBA player stats 1 week ago:
It is amusing they care so much but when you have star players like KD not taking these shots because of their stats I can see the league caring enough to change it.
There’s probably others that don’t care but the only one I can think of I see consistently taking them is Jokic and he kinda killed his 3% a bit. Although he did hit 1 or 2 insane ones last season.

- Comment on Thanasis Antetokounmpo signing one-year deal to return to Bucks - Shams 2 weeks ago:
They do play him and he’s actually decent on defense so it’s typically at the end of quarters for defensive coverage.
Definitely benefits from being Gianni’s brother though. Without Giannis I’d guess he’d be like a two way g league player, maybe end of bench when he was younger and a team wanted to take a flyer.
Giannis has said it helps him play better having his brother there so realistically even if having his brother there only makes Giannis play 1% better that’s still way more contribution to the team than your average 15th roster spot guy.
- Comment on Kawhi Leonard reportedly paid $28 million for 'no-show job' with Clippers as way to get around NBA salary cap 2 weeks ago:
There’s 2 reasons I think he won’t go easy
-
The other owners have seemed to be annoyed with Balmers spending ability to the point they put actual team building penalties like the 2nd apron into the last CBA so think there will be pressure from other owners to throw the book at him especially with it being a star player.
-
With gambling legalized and the league promoting it, there’s an expectation the league should enforce fairness even more than before.
The league is already dealing with questions of legitimacy with the gambling investigation on some players, they really don’t want teams skirting cap rules on top of that. They’ll likely get pressure from the sportsbook partners since if people think it’s rigged they won’t bet.

- Comment on Kawhi Leonard reportedly paid $28 million for 'no-show job' with Clippers as way to get around NBA salary cap 2 weeks ago:
Damn if true the Clippers are screwed. The wolves were the last team to do that and the punishment was:
The league stripped the Timberwolves of five draft picks (first round 2001–2005), but it was eventually reduced to three first-round picks (2001, 2002, and 2004). The league also fined the Timberwolves $3.5 million and suspended general manager Kevin McHale for one year.
Would have to imagine the Clippers could lose 5 since it’s involving a star player.

- Comment on NHL Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon has agreed to buy the Trailblazers 5 weeks ago:
I don’t know enough about the owner to say what’s most likely but I don’t think the other owners would approve of a move to Las Vegas since I feel like that and Seattle are the most likely candidates for expansion.

- Comment on Luka, Lakers agree to 3-year, $165M extension 1 month ago:
Spotrac is a good source for this stuff. and it looks like even if you completely remove LeBron salary they’re still over the cap so free agent wise it’s not a problem.
But not having him would give them more room for trades since they’re currently hard capped at the first apron, I can’t remember the details on why that happens to some teams, think it’s trade related or something. Currently they’re only $1M below the first Apron so effectively can’t take back more salary really.

- Comment on Damian Lillard is finalizing a 3 Year $42M Deal to Return to the Trailblazers 2 months ago:
Yeah it’s a bit of a head scratcher. Like if he comes back the year after and is close to his same output they have him on a discount then.
But they’re paying him all of this next season just to take that chance. And if he doesn’t recover well there’s more downside.
Feels mostly a sentimental move

Sad it didn’t workout for him in Milwaukee but glad the Bucks and him were both able to move on relatively well!

He’s on his rookie deal so they’re giving him the Rookie Max Extension. Means he’ll be eligible for a Supermax if he hits the right acolades

- Comment on Pacers confirm Haliburton won't play next season 2 months ago:
He’s said he doesn’t regret it and I definitely get that with it being G7 of the finals but damn does it suck to see this.
Even if he fully recovers (big IF) the team’s trajectory was definitely altered as seen by the Turner move since ownership wasn’t trying to pay the tax after the injury.

- Comment on The Sacramento Kings are trading Jonas Valanciunas to the Nuggets for Saric 2 months ago:
Sounds like Kings need to cut some salary for other moves but yeah this one was wild.
The Nuggets have an actual playable backup for Jokic for the first time ever and they didn’t have to give up any picks.
- Comment on Bucks waive Lillard, agree with Turner 2 months ago:
Thanks! Yeah it’s going to be tough to find a better stretch than Turner. Definitely seems a financial move from pacers owners unfortunately
