- Comment on Microsoft's LinkedIn: If our AI gets it wrong, that's your problem 2 months ago:
At this point, if you’re not double-checking something produced by your AI tool of choice, it absolutely is your fault. It’s no secret that these applications were trained on garbage.
- Comment on TikTok executives know about the harms the app poses for teenagers, lawsuit documents allege 2 months ago:
There’s plenty of evidence that social media is harmful to kids, teens, and adults. Several studies are referenced in this article: sciencenews.org/…/social-media-teens-mental-healt…
We also know that FB has used its platform to unknowingly run social experiments on users without their knowledge and helped the proliferation of misinformation to the tremendous detriment of our country and our people.
Social Media can and should be regulated just like any other objectionable form of speech.

In recent years I’ve had mixed performance from Supermassive titles. The Quarry didn’t run well. The Devil In Me ran very well. I haven’t played the new companion game they made to Dead by Daylight, but the demo ran perfectly.
We’ll see when it comes down in price.

Having a great online gaming community can be a wonderful thing. I’ve returned over and over again to ALFA, a Neverwinter Nights persistent world that’s over two decades old now, and me and a few lifers are still playing and DMing even today with each other.
Online friends are real friends.

A 100+ billion dollar valuation.
Absurd.
It’s just as absurd as when WeWork got a 40 billion dollar valuation.
These VC’s are insane.

That it does.
We still have to look at historical patterns and acknowledge that what a person claims to vote for is antithetical to what their party of choice is actually going to do.

Yes, it does. We may not like to consider that, but it’s the truth.

Does it not bother you that they all happened and got worse under Democrats?

Vote third party and be public about it.
Protests are a waste, do taking to the streets doesn’t matter much unless you can gather enough people to create a legitimate violent threat.

Absolutely right. The only power we have now is local.

Agreed.
If only.

If you want that to change, you have start local
You’re partly right.
The only power we have now is local, unless you’re a billionaire or willing to commit a terrorist act, both of which do not apply to me. You can always do good with your own two hands, but we can look at the last two decades and conclude correctly and definitively that voting for either major party is throwing your vote away, at least if you’re a wage earner.
- Comment on Paralyzed Man Unable to Walk After Maker of His Powered Exoskeleton Tells Him It's Now Obsolete 2 months ago:
they don’t make an effort to correct it.
An interesting take, but nevertheless, an incorrect one. The individual vote has no power to make significant change at the Federal level unless they’re a billionaire or willing to commit an act of terrorism. (Both of which don’t apply to either of us, I imagine.)

Thank you for your perspective.
Voting system reform is my #1 issue
Respectfully, I don’t think it is. You’ve seen the same history I have and, whether you want to acknowledge it or not, you know how your Democratic vote reinforces that which you say you want to change.

I’m asking a legitimate question here.
We can look back at the last 40 years, but the last 20 in particular, when Democrats were handed a mandate not once bet twice.
And they’ve used that power to make us poorer, not wealthier.
So how exactly are you not throwing your vote away voting Harris or Trump, given that we can look at recent history and infer exactly what they’re going to do once elected?
- Comment on Paralyzed Man Unable to Walk After Maker of His Powered Exoskeleton Tells Him It's Now Obsolete 2 months ago:
How exactly are you not throwing your vote away voting Harris or Trump, in full knowledge that neither is going to do anything meaningful to help the poor and working class?
- Comment on Paralyzed Man Unable to Walk After Maker of His Powered Exoskeleton Tells Him It's Now Obsolete 2 months ago:
Every two years, 99% of voters here in the US choose to put their stamp of approval on capitalism. Then they inexplicably clutch their pearls when capitalists do capitalist things, as if it’s somehow shocking.
Looks like public pressure brought a positive outcome in this case, so that’s something, but this is the stuff you should consider when voting for the two ruling parties.

Sadly, that’s the distro I had when I did my dual boot last summer. My Lenovo just isn’t compatible with it.

Issues are not worth my free time.
Exactly. I will say though that I learned a lot, so it’ll be easier when I go back. I do plan to give Ubuntu a try as I’ve read it plays nicer with Nvidia.
My plan is to have a gaming-dedicated system for Windows and a non-gaming system for literally everything else on Linux.
- Comment on Recall: Microsoft re-launches ‘privacy nightmare’ AI screenshot tool 2 months ago:
Also, I too love Linux, but when I ran a dual-boot for six weeks last summer I had to troubleshoot it almost every single day. Because of that I ended up just going back to Windows and making sure I keep it clean with O&O ShutUp. Some systems just aren’t compatible with Linux and mine is one of them.
Even when it was working, only approximately half of my games ran on it, so I needed Windows anyway. (Though that may be on me for choosing Mint instead of a more gaming-centric distro.)
I’m going to go back to Linux when get a new system and can have a gaming-dedicated PC, but for now, I’m stuck with Windows.

The original Resident Evil was pretty revolutionary and terrifying for me, but the 100% scariest I’ve played is the original Dead Space.
More recently, The Outlast Trials is really good, and I would HIGHLY recommend any of the Dark Pictures Anthology games, but my favorite is Man of Medan.
