Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I was high as fuck with some buddies talking about college sports and the topic of recruiting visits came up. We were all talking about how so many people dream of going on a trip to Hawaii and we wondered how many recruits possibly fake interest in the Rainbow Warriors just to get them and their family that free trip to Hawaii.

How does Hawaii deal with this and know who’s serious? Say you have a 5 star quarterback trying to visit. Can you really afford to call his bluff and say “oh we’re not gonna have him come on a visit. He’s probably just wanting a free trip. No way he comes here.” I’m sure a big part of the team is probably made up of kids from Hawaii who are used to living here but I still wonder how they go about recruiting out of state kids.
