If the USA nuked themselves to blame Russia, how would we know? Not like we would ever stage an attack on our own soil. That certainly never happened and as the recent pandemic showed, the Gov't is deeply concerned about our health... They did produce the miracle vaccine after all.
Does Israel have nuclear subs? It just takes 1. Not that our greatest ally would ever attack us to pull us into war - that certainly has never ever happened.
So (((hypothetically))) how would we know?

this is kind of an unspecific problem of knowledge in general, there's gaps between claims that can be difficult to clear doubts over
like with corona, I still can't tell if it really exists, if people really died from it, if it's still around, etc. since the impact has been indistinguishable from flu or other disease rates and deaths and the effect of panic of telling people to believe it's a real thing.
Sometimes however lies are only able to make so much sense, because like with a nuclear attack, you might be able to gather evidence to suggest where the bomb came from (couldn't claim it flew from russia if there was no recorded flight path, and if they smuggled it in then there are questions how that would happen and who would be involved and everything - you might be able to gather evidence to refute claims of external attacks)

Did you read Don Delilo White Noise yet? It's a good time. Hint: it's apropos on the fucking nose.
Anyway, SARS-Cov2 seems to exist, but it's a coronavirus, which means a different wrinkle on the flu. I shrugged it off in a few days as did most people that I know.
I think a lot of it, just like with the regular flu, depends on how tired you are when it hits you.

I never ended up reading white noise, may have read a little bit of it. did read the synopsis and re-read it right now... it is uncanny how some of those things in the book are happening today, but in different ways than the author wrote about them maybe.

I and my gf got COVID 3 weeks ago. Its.... different. Not severe, but it lasts really long. Was sick for two weeks, and still have migraines from it. Same with the gf.
Our friend's 55 yr old dad got Covid in hospital and died. The only C19 death I personally know.

Not saying you're wrong but what would make you believe either of these are not pneumonia, bronchitus, flu, etc.?
My bias is to be skeptical after having seen a lot of things be faked or absurd things have been said. I know someone who "died from covid" who was 80 years old... ok, I'm pretty sure people die of the flu at that age? Been hard to distinguish the differences.
Since we think c19 was likely released, is the theory, that also seems kind of unlikely, as it can end up harming the people who want to release it for their gain. So, it made me doubt it was released - seems easier to just lie and say that it's a thing when it's not.
