Mine is that each team has different traditions/stadium environment that truly creates a home field advantage. (Yes, this is all college sports as well.)
Another is that Rivalry games mean more to some fanbases then playoff success. I would rather go 4-8 and beat Xichigan, then go 14-1 win the Title and lose to them.
Those are my two examples and I’m sure it varies by fanbase.
