I mean, no disrespect to the guy, but he took over a program that was one year removed from three consecutive NY6 bowls. Not to mention the team was loaded with Chris Petersen recruits.
He proceeded to not even make it through two full seasons, with the Huskies finishing 4-8 under an interim head coach. Then DeBoer comes to town and immediately has them back in the top ten and now one game away from a national championship.
Husky (Huskie?) fans, what the heck happened during those two years in-between Petersen and DeBoer? I even thought Lake did alright during the Covid season, but in hindsight it’s looking like he was a football terrorist. What am I missing here?
