  • Prep: hot shower
  • Brush: Yaqi Cashmere Synthetic Shaving Brush, Dandelion Green Handle, 24mm
  • Razor: WCS Classic Collection Razor 84S, Stainless Steel, Closed Comb
  • Blade: Gillette Silver Blue (2)
  • Lather: House of Mammoth - Hygge - soap
  • Post Shave: House of Mammoth - Hygge - balm

  Final shave of 2023. It’s been a rollercoaster of a year (I won’t bore you with the details), here’s to a new year being freshly shaven. Cheers fellas.

  • Post Shave: Barrister & Mann - Petrichor - Aftershave
  • Post Shave: House of Mammoth/Declaration Grooming - Cerberus - Liniment
  • Fragrance: Azzaro - Pour Homme Night Time - EdT

  Petrichor was a good one after using Fougère Classique. They’re both stanky and different. Cerberus was only used because it’s the only liniment I have, and I decided I wanted to use liniment today.

  Over the past couple of weeks I’ve been using a lot of GEM razors. MMOC 1&2, Streamline, MM24, Clog-Pruf, and now Pushbutton. I’ve enjoyed them all, to be honest. I’ve definitely had some meh shaves with GEM, but lately they’ve been nice.

    A very thorough tour of GEM world. From my perspective, safety razor design could have stopped with the MMOC. The mechanism is elegant and, for me, the shave feel is absolutely perfect. [ … and yet, I have a bunch of DE and SE razors in my collection that I refuse to part with :) ]

  I sometimes use Djunior’s bath time for my shave and toast was such a day. My wife came in after I was done shaving and she went “OMG this smells good!” It turns out that especially the Mountain Man (Creed Silver Mountain Water dupe) + Shire part is pure gold according to her.

  The Portal Böker treated me very well again. This one has a super comfortable geometry (once you’ve learned to watch that spikey point 😅) and a smooth edge for easy BBS shaves.

    Love that razor! Mountain Man followed by actual Silver Mountain Water is pretty good too, though the freshness of Shire is hard to beat.
