Yes & No. My nationality is German, and I had to do a somewhat deep dive into this complex issue for about 3 years when it started, as part of a journalism project I did as a hobby for a University.
In my opinion:
The bad: 1) Uncontrolled, unchecked migration is a horror show. You cannot let EVERYONE in. New comers have to be selected to have same cultural values, otherwise conflict. Common sense.
-
A big chunk, if not the majority of these crimes are committed by Asylum seekers who have been denied and are living in the country, knowing they will get kicked out. They have nothing to lose. Police know this. Politicians know this.
-
Voters are 1000% to blame. Stupid policies come from stupid politicians responding to stupid voters.
The good: 1) By sheer luck, they got a large number of refugees who have similar values from Syria. Highly educated, non religious middle class people, especially young professionals like Lawyers, Electricians, Surgeons. None of them wanted to stay in Germany, and most would like to go back, but the war prevents them.
These people have SKIN IN THE GAME. They work hard, obey laws and don't try to burn down society.
Getting such good quality people was dumb luck. Not a result of some genius policy.
- More traditional families with 2 parents and kids, raised on traditional moral values of decency and hard work, were let in due to the war.
Modern white German families have been WRECKED by marxism, feminism, transgenderism. White german kids often grow up in these "MODERN" broken homes.
The middle class families from Syria are nothing like this shitshow.
Overall, despite the higher crime rate, its been good for German society, because your avg German woman is a hardcore feminist who doesn't want kids and believes white men are evil. These traditional newcomers are bringing some balance. They will raise good kids in traditional families, and give Germany a future, rather than the feminist hellscape it would have been.
Just my 2c on the issue.
