Many a-college football fan has been tricked, deceived, and generally hoodwinked by multiple teams sharing the same acronym. Which orange and white UT do you cheer for? Why did my grandma get me a badger plushie when I go to school in Seattle? From ASU to WSU and everything in between, alumni and Walmart-fans alike have debated the REAL owner of college football’s holy letter combinations since the beginning of the sport (or at least social media). To help determine once and for all the answers to these disputes, I’ve created a google form (linked here and below) for r/CFB to vote on, containing every shared acronym in D1 college football. The questions are alphabetized as well as optional; feel free to vote on as many or as few as you like. Results to come in a few days. Enjoy!
Disclaimer - I do sincerely apologize if I’ve left your school off of this list by accident, or if I missed/messed up an acronym. Again, the schools on the form are limited to Division 1 only (FBS and FCS). My source for the acronyms was Wikipedia’s list of colloquial names for colleges/universities in the US.
