I posit that crony capitalism, where corporations use the state to steal money via taxes and government contracts after sufficient campaign donations are made and create regulations that raise the barrier of entry for new comers, among other things, is simply Early Stage Socialism.
Socialism requires a very powerful state that dictates winners and losers. Favored entities use their political connections to become the state-sanctioned providers of goods and services.
Tell me how this isn't exactly what crony capitalism is.
