I guess it depends on the bus; I've seen some fairly luxurious long-haul buses. In general though, train travel is a lot more comfortable. I'm a pretty tall guy, and bus seats (never mind plane seats!) are rarely spaced out enough for me to sit comfortably - never a problem on trains.
On long bus rides you will typically have stops along the route to stretch your legs, get something to eat etc. Sleeping in a bus seat is no fun though, so I would avoid overnight trips.

I've never ridden on a train. It sounds really fun.

You really should try it! It takes a lot longer than flying, but it's quiet and relaxing, you have plenty of leg-room, even a bed if it's an overnight trip. You can have a proper meal in a restaurant car, stretch your legs and see the scenery. Trains around these parts also have WiFi and mains outlets for laptop charging, so you can get some work done or play some games.
Also, you don't have to deal with traffic to the airport, finding somewhere to park, paying the insane parking fees, dealing with security queues and the TSA (or equivalent), COVID testing and all the other bullshit that makes flying a fucking nightmare.
Oh and rail vacations can be a lot of fun - I did the trans-Siberian railway journey from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok with my gf a few years ago (before COVID), best vacation I've ever had!
