This is just a new inside joke over there, someone unironically thinks there are a lot of human clones running around...

How would it matter ? If there are more clones in the world, it would be simply like having more identical twins in the population.

Or are people imagining there is someway to magically upload their minds and download them into clones ? That is far far far far into the future.... we have no real understanding of how brains work, otherwise people wouldn't be sitting in a coma or dying from strokes.

The second part is equally bad, writing a "mind data structure" onto a fleshy brain...... I don't even know where to start. Right now humanity is just making balls out of yeast and bacteria and calling it "impossible burger". We are far far far far from being able to make complex tissue like human organs, let alone the brain.

  yeah, it would be just like more twins / triplets / etc.
  
  Maybe they think of a case where they could clone a person and somehow the clone doesn't have a soul or free will like humans are thought to, so that they're just like an animal that can be remote controlled

    So a clone that is basically a robot ? No free will ? Biologically we have no way to create a human clone right now, let alone one that is somehow able to breathe, walk and eat, but not think. Its way beyond our understanding.
    
    So it would have to be an actual machine with a realistic skin and voice.
    
    You just have to look at CES to see how the current state of realistic robots is. For all the Hollywood makeup artists, its still not good enough to pass for a human in up close day to day interactions.
    
    And what, there is a guy sitting at a drone call center running the thing 24/7 ? Must be expensive. What would be the end goal ? Burning cash ?
