I’m a Duke fan, and it’s no secret that we’ve often struggled to fill up Wallace Wade. The place can have a great atmosphere when the team is doing well and a big-name opponent is in town, but other weeks the crowds are often underwhelming.
Winning is obviously the primary way you attract and keep fans, but of course we as fans don’t have much control over how our teams do.
Recently, a Twitter account popped up trying to solicit opinions on how to draw more fans to Wallace Wade.
If you’re a fan of a smaller program - or maybe a program at a large school that isn’t a historical power - have you seen ideas implemented that have actually improved attendance and interest regardless of how the team is playing? Promotions, community engagement, something else?
