As we all know, the main ideology for Republicans is "Conservatism". Many who subscribe to this ideology claim they want "freedom" but I would argue that they don't. Conservatism leaves no room for liberty due to the enforcement of judeo-christian values. As a Christian, its definitely difficult to not side with that but there is good reason. Where conservatism leaves no room for liberty, libertarianism leaves room for Judeo-christian values, just not at an enforceable level. It grants the freedom to practice in your own way without the state pushing moral law down your neck. As a Christian, I believe everyone is in charge if their own salvation, so why have the state nanny us? After all, the first amendment of the constitution forbids the state from establishing legislation that sides with a particular religion.
