This Sunday we take a look at player Red Zone production through 13 weeks. If you happen to play fantasy football, this post might actually be useful in setting lineups and grabbing a player off waivers for the playoffs.
For the Reddit post, inside the 20 stats will be posted. However if you would like a more detailed breakdown, the full article breaks down the redzone stats into segments: inside 5 yards, 5-10 yards, 10-20 yards, inside 20 yards. This detailed look provides some interesting insights.

Red Zone Quarterbacks
The big takeaway is the sheer volume of Red Zone attempts Dak Prescott has had compared to all other QBs. His completion% and TD% stats are average, his yards per stats are just above average, but his yards and TDs are #1(tied with Mahomes in TDs with 19).
While this chart doesn’t show it, Mahomes has only 3 TD passes from outside the 20 yard line all year. This speaks to the Chief’s lack of receiver big play ability.
If Brock Purdy is a system QB, that system also includes the red zone. His stats inside the 20 yard line are spectacular.
If the Colts want to make the playoffs it would help if Gardner Minshew could improve his red zone production. He has just 6 red zone TDs on 44 attempts.
Tip of the cap to Russell Wilson, Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts and Brock Purdy who all avoided the dreaded red in the metric lines.

Red Zone Receiving
Great trivia question in asking which teammates are the #1 & #2 most targeted red zone receivers. Who would have thought Jake Ferguson would be a red zone terror this year? Lamb meanwhile is just a stud everywhere on the field.
Michael Pittman & Davante Adams are catching red zone balls but coming up a yard or two short of TDs. Especially Pittman with 102 red zone receiving yards on 14 catches, yet a mere 2 TDs.
We can see Tyreek Hill is doing most of his epic damage from outside the red zone, while Courtland Sutton is dominating inside the red zone with 8 TDs; 2 more than anyone else.
Chris Godwin & DeAndre Hopkins are both really struggling with red zone production this year, and Tony Pollard has 10 catches inside the 20, yet has zero TDs to show for it.
Tip of the cap: Ferguson, Metcalf, Sutton, Andrews, Brown, Diggs, Doubs, Thielen & Meyers all avoided the red.

Red Zone Rushing
Christian McCaffrey is the poster child for red zone rushing production. Most attempts, most yards, most RB TDs…the total package when it comes to RB.
The touchdown machines: Hurts(12), McCaffrey(11), Mostert(11), Edwards(10), Allen(9).
Struggling in the Red Zone: Pollard, Moss, Allgeier, Dillon, Barkley
Surprisingly nimble red zone QBs: Lawrence(13 att 4TD), Herbert (11 att 4 TD), & Ridder(10 att 3 TD)
Never give them the ball: Mattison & Javonte Williams - Both have 22 attempts and 0 TDs to show for it.
Tip of the cap: McCaffrey, Montgomery, K Williams, Mixon, Etienne, Mostert all avoided the red blocks of shame.
Note - The link to the full article provides much better insight into rushing production as it breaks down the red zone into 5 yard segments. This allows you to see the inside the 5 yard metrics that are so important to rb and qb red zone production.
