Belzebubs is an animated sitcom about a perfectly ordinary black metal cultist family. Sløth is juggling his stay-at-home dad obligations with his lifelong dream of being a black metal rock star. His breadwinner wife, Lucy, is fed up with her job and their teenage daughter, Lilith falls head over heels for a perfectly normal boy in her class. Leviathan is the family’s good-natured youngest child. Voice actors: Andrew Wheildon-Dennis, Jess Robinson, Pippa Haywood, Emma Ballantine, James Alexander. Director: Samppa Kukkonen. Production: Pyjama Films Oy (2026).
In case you are a Finn, there’s a version with Finnish voice acting.
Belzebubs is originally a web comic by a Finnish comic artist JP Ahonen, which has since turned in to a phenomenon. The web comic has been released as two books, translated to 15 languages. There’s an actual 9-song album. The band (???) was meant to tour in some of the largest metal festivals (Hellfest, Wacken…) in 2020, but Covid hit and they ended up in debt - which is very fitting for the comic/show. And now, finally, there’s an animated series.
