Nurses and midwives in Tasmanian public hospitals and health services continue to take industrial action.

VAHPA - Public sector allied health
VAHPA is escalating its industrial action in the public sector. The union has notified 43 employers of new bans on NDIS referrals, elective surgery data, coding and actions to delay some scans. This is in conjunction with existing workplace bans and activities. The union anticipates that these new bans will cause a lot of disruption in hospitals, particularly bed flow and discharge issues.
In short
AMWU/ETU Vic - Note Printing Australia
Union members at Note Printing Australia have commenced industrial action with a series of work bans. Note Printing Australia is owned by the RBA and is responsible for printing Australian bank notes.
Wins/resolutions
TWU - FedEx
After two strikes, 3 no votes and 3 legal cases, the TWU has reached an in-principle agreement with FedEx. I located an update on the in-principle agreement online that says workers will receive an additional $1000 sign-on bonus;10.75% wage increases over 3 years; 15% superannuation and 20 days domestic and family violence leave; and automation and threats to job security will now be included in consultative committee meetings. TWU members will now vote on whether to accept the offer recommended to them by the union.
TWU Vic - CEVA
The threat of strike action alone was enough to get CEVA back at the negotiating table with an improved offer. The TWU reports a strong agreement has been reached, and importantly includes protections around job security, AI and automation.
