When weather hits the North East it's called a North Eastner. How come when weather hits the North West it's not called a North Wester?

  A nor’easter is a specific weather pattern; it’s not just “weather that hits the north east”.

  I assume there is not an equivalent weather pattern for the north west.

      They are all vacuums or “hoovers” if you live in the UK.
