The demonstration took place on Tuesday evening outside George Meehan House in north London, where former Labour councillor Emina Ibrahim was due to present a petition urging the Green-run council to reflect the Supreme Court’s ruling on single-sex spaces in its services for victims of violence against women and girls.

According to Ibrahim, a group of trans rights supporters gathered outside the meeting and shouted as petitioners entered the building. She later told media outlets that she heard chants and the term “TERF” being used during the protest.
