The ‘BCS Era’ of college football lasted 16 years from the '98/'99 season to the '13/'14 season.

Florida State played in the inaugural BCS Championship Game in 1999 and lost to Tennessee.

They then played in the final BCS Championship Game in 2014 and defeated Auburn, closing out the BCS Era on top.

Fast forward to 2014. The ‘4-Team Playoff Era’ begins and sees Florida State get selected, and then lose in the inaugural tournament to Oregon.

Florida State, although without star QB Jordan Travis (Prayers for JT), still have an outside shot of running the table and closing out the ‘4 Team Playoff Era’ on top as well.
