Long story short ESPN analyzed from Jan. 1, 2010, to Jan. 31, 2021, all of the Football, Men B-Ball, & Women B-Ball coaches of FBS level schools that were fired and how much they were paid out to not coach. The total for the 11 year period was $533.6 million, or $45.8M/yr to pay people to not coach.

- Herm Edwards - $4.4M from Arizona State
- Karl Dorrell - $8.7M from Colorado
- Bryan Harsin - $15.3M from Auburn
- Willie Taggart - $288.5K from Florida Atlantic while Florida State is still paying $3.5M for 2023 and 2024
- Mel Tucker - was close to getting $80M from Michigan State
- Zach Arnett - $4M from Mississppi State
- Pat Fitzgerald - possibly $42M from Northwestern
- John James Fisher Jr. - $76M from The Agricultural and Mechanical College of Texas
- EDIT: Needed to add in that UCLA would owe Chip Kelly $8.8M if they decide to fire him
