Basically how much time does it take a fallen blueblood, or a tier lower programs to embarrass themselves by pointing to history when talking smack?

One thing you constantly get as a Mizzou fan being in the SEC is constant smack talk of “Its embarrassing when our program losses to Mizzou”. You then get pontification about history, tradition and resources yada yada. We get it from all sorts of angles from teams that arguably haven’t been better/or on par with us since the early 2000’s.

I know we aren’t the only program that gets this a lot. I’m sure K-State fans would be able to fund a trip to the moon with how many times Big 12 fans (I’m sure some in our fanbase did as well this year) bring up their historical all time record against them.

I’d also say some fanbases I think finally do come to terms with there current situation, so clearly eventually most sensible fans start feeling silly bringing it up, sorry Nebraska fans.

For me, I feel it starts to get sad when teams have graduated bachelor degree students that can’t remember/weren’t born to see their team have some sustained 2-3 years of success. If you’re still pointing to how awesome your program was before the towers went down, then I start to take a little pity on you.
