I created a post the other day showing how economic leftists don't understand risk. Someone the sent me a DM quoting a bunch of dead people from 150 years ago as proof that capitalism is bad and that workers take all the risk in a capitalist endeavor. It got me thinking: economics seems like the only place where people think simply quoting people from 2 centuries ago is a valid argument.
I posit that the only valid argument should be data. Don't quote me Marx or whoever the hell you have posters of in your basement: show me statistics showing all the people socialism has pulled out of poverty (hint: the answer is relatively few). On the converse, capitalists should always be pulling out data showing how hundreds of millions, if not billions, have been pulled out of abject poverty as capitalism flourished in the 20th century.
