I know a few people who seem to really hate Elon Musk with a passion. But the thing is... I can't seem to get them to articulate why they hate him other than the fact that it's because he's rich. And this is coming from progressives, so they don't hate him because government subsidies and what not.

This is a guy who has literally lit the fire under the worldwide electric vehicle market and been a big driver in the renewed interest in space and space travel, both things progressive supposedly love. At this point, he also sold off most of his assets and keeps asking people on Twitter what charitable causes to donate to.

I think it all comes down to the fact that progressives hate anyone who is rich and doesn't fawn over progressive movements and politicians with an irrational passion. Literally, I know people who call him a "supervillain". Because he still owns much of his main company and other people have decided he's worth billions (which is what his wealth comes down to, not him having actual money sitting around left and right)?

Honestly, it feels like the left hates anyone who doesn't support their narrative.
