We thought the Aussies had it bad before the outbreak of COVID, with having their gun rights massively violated after the Port Arthur shooting, and now we are seeing civilians experiencing what it’s like to live in a legitimate police state.

When COVID hit and social distancing was “encouraged”, the police would execute search warrants on Australians who relied on Facebook to organize protests. As terrifying as that seemed at the time for me, it pales in comparison to what’s happened recently:

Video footage on the internet has emerged of riot police using their numbers to break up protests. Many of these protests were just people assembled peacefully, and in no way causing any sort of a disturbance.

Worst part is, there’s been Aussies arrested for attempting to resist riot police’s orders, and some of the victims detained got brought down in the worst ways possible. One such clip I’ve seen is of a girl who got tossed to the ground by an officer twice her size, before the other cops dog piled this poor woman.

The outlook is not good, I feel sorry for the Aussies who disagree with this amount of government overreach. It just goes to show that trading essential liberty for temporary safety hasn’t worked out in their favor, and the pandemic shows us that.
