I was watching a video recently on the current state of cable TV, and by far the most fascinating aspect of it from my view was its coverage of networks that have been left in a state of rerun fixed-schedule stasis for in some cases years upon years either out of contractual obligation with carriers or sheer corporate neglect, with many remaining utterly unchanged (station IDs and all) from when they were first programmed. I don’t have cable, so I can’t just go hunting these things down, but I think their continued existence and survival as semi-living time capsules from various bygone eras of the TV landscape is really interesting in this day and age. For those of you on this sub that haven’t cut the cord yet, are there any examples of what I’m hitting at that come to mind? I’d love to know about them.
