This year hasn’t been a great one for returning shows. A lot of them had pretty disappointing new seasons. Off the top of my head, the returning Apple TV series (Shrinking, Your Friends & Neighbors, and a former fav of mine, For All Mankind) are somewhere on a spectrum between forgettable and downright horrendous, and I don’t even bother keeping up with FAM anymore. Some of the bigger franchise stuff like The Boys or Daredevil: Born Again were also uninspiring. Euphoria was never good, but this (allegedly) final season has been a trainwreck.
All this led to me thinking about the series with good returning seasons. I think the example that stands out the most is The Pitt.
I know it’s only May, but what are your favourite returning shows so far this year?
