Easy answer for me. 30 Rock.

I didn’t watch this show for years based on the commercials at the time. What still sticks out in my mind is Liz on stage, tearing off her blouse while half-heartedly dancing and singing. I thought to myself, “This is what passes for comedy? Pass!”

I’m still salty about it to this day, because that scene stands out as one of the best in the show IN CONTEXT. I saw it as the first time Liz really stuck her neck out for Jack, and their relationship evolves from forced loyalty (on the part of Liz) and forced tolerance (on the part of Jack) to genuine respect and friendship.

I loved the entire show. It was genuinely funny and heart warming. The ending was a tear jerker.

Honorable mention: Schitt’s Creek.

I can’t remember anything specific about the ads, but I heard them a lot on the radio at the time, and none of them enticed me to watch the show. But I would rank it one of the best show’s I’ve seen in my lifetime.
