Let’s say rather than trying to watch every award-winning or classic series start to finish, I just wanted to watch one episode of the “classic” shows to experience them at their best. Which would you recommend?

For example, Pine Barrens from the Sopranos, Walkabout from Lost, The Fly from Breaking Bad. Episodes that you can enjoy and are their own reward without much need for seasons’ worth of recap.

How about suggestions like that for this group of 10:

The Wire,

The X-Files,

Game of Thrones,

Prime Suspect (Helen Mirren)

The Affair,

Hill Street Blues,

St. Elsewhere,

ER,

Nurse Jackie,

and The Leftovers?
