Colonization, imperialism, racial oppression... these are things historically facilitated by taxation and soft money. It's estimated that the British Empire transferred some $45 trillion in wealth from India to Britain using taxes. Europe flooded African markets with glass bead currency, sucking the capital from those nations.
Currency manipulation is still used by the US to take advantage of the USD's position as reserve currency and transfer wealth from developing and even developed nations to the US. France still uses this method with the African Franc to continue imperialism in Africa.
Ok, so what gives? The Left seems to have no problem banning things for individuals because they *could* be used for bad: guns, plastic, soft drinks. It seems like taxes and soft money have an equal potential for bad, so why not ban their use by the government too?
