My university is forcing everyone to wear a mask to slow the spread of covid. I've been vaccinated against covid for 6 months. I've also traveled the world in those 6 months and have yet to see anything that indicates to me that I should still care about covid.

Needless to say, covid mask mandates now violate my religious beliefs. I sent a memo to my university requesting religious accommodation consisting of me testing for covid every day, and otherwise not wearing the face coverings that violate my beliefs. The university has denied 3 requests, saying that due to the pandemic state of the university they are not "allowing" religious exemptions from this specific university policy. If I stop complying, university policy says I could be expelled.

Can I sue for violation of my right to religious freedom on state/federal university land?

Or do I just Custer the university with some old-fashion civil disobedience?
