As long as a company relies on the government for a majority of business, accepts massive subsidies, or does business with the government directly… they shouldn’t be able to legally mandate vaccines for their employees.
I don’t find this to be hypocritical at all. I’m tired of my democrat and republican friends trying to “gotcha!” me over stuff like this. “You’re a libertarian so you have to believe x or you are a hypocrite”.
If we live in America and businesses have freedom, why do mom and pop bakeries, florists, etc get spanked by the supreme court any time they deny someone business?
Yes.. In a libertarian world companies should be able to have whatever rules they want. But as long as they are propped up by my stolen tax dollars, they should have no grounds to violate their employee’s personal liberties. They are essentially an arm of the state - and their willingness to enforce lord biden’s mandate proves this further.
A libertarian society and economy is balanced by how the market reacts to decisions, and under the conditions we live in now, companies that are propped up by the government face 0 consequences for decisions they make.
Why am I expected to accept every “con” of libertarianism and not benefit from any positive aspect? This is why I do not consider my stance hypocritical.
