So given this probably falls in the category of peak offseason content, I’m thinking about creating a simple survey where I ask every fanbase to simply select from all 134 FBS teams what 9 teams they’d have on their “wish list” to play every year. Sort of an imaginary world where we don’t actually have conferences per say, but instead of each team is in agreement with 9 other programs that mutually pick them as well to play every year.

The catch is the teams you list for your team have to actually vote on you in their top 9 too or else you have to choose someone else. So for my school for example, the 9 teams my fanbase might vote to play could be:

  1. Texas
  2. A&M
  3. Baylor
  4. TCU
  5. Ok State
  6. Houston
  7. SMU
  8. OU
  9. Arkansas

Now the catch is all those fanbases above would have to include Texas Tech in their top 9 as well or else they we’d need to pick another team (maybe New Mexico or UTEP for example) and they’d have to have us in their top 9 an so on until everyone gets to 9 mutually agreed on. I recognize that this may just fallout to be more or less the old traditional regional conferences, but I’m still curious.

So with that said, what 9 teams *that you believe would pick your team to play in their list of 9 as well* would you have in your top 9 teams to play for your annual “conference schedule?”
