Even though I’ve never watched The Office, I frequently hear people remark it’s one of the most rewatchable sitcoms ever, even if they are already familiar with every joke and plot point. What, in the opinion of individuals who have watched it (or similar sitcoms), makes a show so resilient to repeated viewings? Is it the characters, the writing, or something else entirely? Many comedies lose their effect once you know the punchlines, but some obviously don’t, which is why I’m intrigued.
