I’ll try to avoid spoilers, but I just finished Beef S2 and was honestly blown away after thinking they couldn’t match the quality of S1. Incredible performances from everyone (particularly Carey Mulligan and Oscar Isaac), another brilliant story, and all elevated by a fantastic soundtrack from Finneas.
It’s quite different from S1 and lacking a bit of the pure insanity that made that story so entertaining and unique, but I think S2’s story feels more complete and the entire cast of characters are better utilised.
It does start out a bit slower but the intensity dials up over the course of the season, and the final 2-3 episodes are some of the best TV I’ve seen this year. Couldn’t recommend it enough.
