Sorry for the dark question. So I’m curious, I know it’s more of a power thing and while I know attraction to children exists, do offending pedophiles and sex offenders actually have attraction to these people or do they just want control and power because these people are “vulnerable”? It seems to me most people who like kids want help and don’t act on it whereas the pedos like on Reddit and stuff who wanna actually sext kids do it for power.
Are rapists actually attracted to the victims? Are child rapists and offending pedophiles attracted to children?

Pedophilia is sexual attraction to kids, full stop. Our current justice system refers to it as rape because a child cannot consent - hence why we might think of pedos as having a power fixation, but they do not see themselves as rapists (as rapists do) - they want to bed and often marry children.
Silly to bring it up, but watch a few episodes of your boy Chris Hansen doing his thing… these men are not looking to rape, they are sexually aroused by children, not a power fantasy.
IMHO acting on pedophilia should be a capital offense - I do not believe these people can be reformed with our current understanding of brain chemistry. Maybe if we lived in Demolition Man world I’d be down to put them on ice forever.
