Long, long, long time listener, first time caller. Thought it’s high time I made a contribution to this sub-reddit that has given me so much over the years…
I am halfway through a cover to cover re-watch of Babylon Berlin having completed season two and about to commence season three. I don’t have the words to describe the quality of this magnificent program; needless to say, if you’ve considered watching it or if you are looking for a quality series, Babylon Berlin is worth your time.
During this re-watch, I’ve been able to enjoy the technical side a great deal more as the story is familiar. The staging and production values are exquisite. It feels like the time. You feel as though you’re there, living the life of the characters. Some of the scene set-ups and cinematography qualities are Hitchcock worthy. Seriously. It’s that good.
The language barrier is irrelevant and I say that as someone who would struggle to recite ten German words.
So there’s my contribution people. Babylon Berlin. Probably makes my all-time, desert island top 20 if not top 10.
