I’ve been rewatching both Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory, and I keep feeling like Sheldon was actually funnier in Young Sheldon.
Maybe it’s because the humor feels more natural there, or because seeing him as a kid makes his behavior come off as more charming than annoying. In The Big Bang Theory he’s obviously iconic, but sometimes the jokes feel more repetitive, while in Young Sheldon his personality seems to create more fresh and unexpected moments.
I’m curious if anyone else feels the same, or if I’m just seeing it differently because of the different tone of both shows.
Do you think Sheldon was actually written better in Young Sheldon?
Was he funnier because of the age/context, or because the show’s style fit him more?
