I’ve been playing Crimson Desert since it came out. It didn’t start out all that great story-wise, but the rest of the game was fun so I kept going. Eventually I got enough stuff to start free roaming, and exploration has always been my favorite thing to do in games that are rich with it.
I found a train while just going around getting fast travel spots unlocked for easier mission progress later. I got to the train and hopped aboard. It seems to be a steam train, and there was no one aboard, not even a conductor. I realized I could open the window, and then went into first person, eventually snapping this screenshot. It’s one of my favorites just for how the whole thing came out while on a moving train!
I spent at least an hour or two atop the train, just to see where it would lead me. I’ve got a few more screenshots I’d like to share as the days go by of that train ride. For something so mundane, the sights I was able to see were pretty and very interesting.
I haven’t played a game that sucked my attention so wholly since Elden Ring came out! Hopefully you’ll see tomorrow’s screenshot! :-]

Looks like nice graphics. Steam compares it to jedi survivor. Does it have similar souls-lile combat mechanics? Or is it more like a shooter?

I’d say it does have elements of Souls/Dragon’s Dogma/Witcher 3.
The problem might be that they are not as tight as Souls/DD would be. I’m playing right now and just got out of a pretty good boss fight, but again, the controls can be VERY iffy at times.
That’s been my takeaway the whole time, basically. The bones are truly there, but the gameplay isn’t as tight as I would like at all. For example, when I go to use the Double Jump skill you can unlock, it takes 3 presses of my X button to actually get it to go, which isn’t ideal. Alongside that, the downward momentum your character has from falling seems to balance out the momentum from the double jump which makes it feel like you didn’t get as much height as you would expect from such a skill.
All in all, it’s a great game, with very good bones, but definitely has a lot of general improvements that would make it a much more enjoyable experience all around!

I see. Since it’s just released, maybe in half a year this will have been patched.
