I genuinely don’t understand it. They already showed so many things in the trailer that weren’t even in the movies, but were in the books.
We get to spend much more time with the characters and see the school year in much more detail. We’ll be able to flesh out the characters a lot more, follow new storylines for the adults, and see the kids actually just being kids while experiencing what it’s like to live a day at Hogwarts. Some of the best parts of the movies were just seeing school life and having fun.
They can also foreshadow and set up future storylines since they know the full story and what’s important, so the show can feel more cohesive overall. And I truly believe they can expand on the books and make this the definitive way to experience Harry Potter.
I just don’t understand why so many people are against it. Book fans have been begging for a more accurate adaptation ever since the movies came out. In fact, I’ve heard a lot of book fans even hate the Goblet of Fire and Half-Blood Prince movies because of how much was cut, which ends up changing the story.
I really think this is an adaptation worth making. There are so many stories that get dozens of adaptations, but somehow Harry Potter getting one more is a bad thing? Like, make it make sense.
