This is a weekly thread to discuss football in the Big 12. Discussion should be limited to football in the conference.

First of all, shoutout to u/jh820439, who was the only one to read the whole post last week.
- Kansas 38 - #6 Oklahoma 33
You would think it was rivalry week with how this one played out. Between the turnovers, rain, lightning delays, and the consistent back and forth, this one was quite entertaining. OU had their second consecutive “down” game, so we’re all curious to see where they go from here. I know we all argued at length about the optics of the Lebby hire, but all that aside, he’s shown some major weaknesses in his playcalling abilities. Kansas gets the big W at Homecoming to get to bowl eligibility.
- Kansas State 41 - Houston 0
Kansas State really looks to have found their stride in their second consecutive blowout win. They have a tough stretch to close out the season (other than us coming to town lol), so buckle up! Big game in Austin this week.
- West Virginia 41 - UCF 28
West Virginia stops the bleeding in Orlando with a bouceback win against the Knights. Another rough outing for Plumlee with three interceptions. Good job to WVU for coming up with 21 points off of turnovers to help secure the W.
- Iowa State 30 - Baylor 18
Yet another demoralizing loss at home. This time for homecoming with Iowa State still mad about the tents - the window of their coaches’ box was broken from the inside. Don’t worry, though, they also took it to us on the field. But man oh man is it frustrating to watch our “offense.” No rhythm, no flow, subs on every play, constant new formations, the list goes on and on… We’re not good enough to try to run as many different types of plays that we do. We need to focus on what can actually work for us. But this isn’t new, and it won’t change soon enough. At least we should end up with a good draft pick, right?
- #7 Texas 35 - BYU 6
This one went about as expected. Murphy caused a little bit of heartburn at first but settled in as time went on. Fortunately for Texas he got the first start out of the way before a big matchup this week.
- Oklahoma State 45 - Cincinnati 13
OSU impressed at home to continue in their redemption arc. Ollie Gordon averaged 10.8 yards per carry en route to 271 yards and two touchdowns. Two worlds will collide this week at Bedlam when OU’s run defense tries to slow him down.

Two big games with Kansas State going to Texas and Bedlam in Stillwater (seems a bit early this year). Kansas and Iowa State is another big game with Iowa State being a part of the 5-way tie for first in the conference.

I started looking for data to help me with the tiers since I can’t watch every game (especially weeks when Baylor is at home). I looked at data from CFP Resume Rankings. It’s a data driven evaluation of resumes mixed in with strength ratings, which is what I was trying to do anyway. It’s not far off from where I already was. He’s also pretty good at predicting the CFP rankings, so be on the lookout for that if you care about those sorts of things.

I hate to jump back on the bandwagon the week that your schedule starts to get tough (again with the exception of us going to Manhattan), but I can’t justify picking against them anymore. KSU returns as my pick to win the conference.
