I’m not familiar with Doc Martin and the original/ counterpart Elaine someone had said she was annoying on Doc Martin. But like OMG SHE IS LIKE NAILS ON A CHALK BOARD! Seriously she sux and I’m not saying this as an old crotchety person. I’m 25. I can’t stand her! Like to the point I can’t watch the show for too long.

I feel like the writers saw Maria Sofia Estrada from Curb how she’s so incompetent/ annoying (actually I’m surprised she wasn’t cast in this role bc the actor alway plays that type) and also Kayla on Hacks and thought cool. Those work hey ppl love Kayla and laugh at Maria let’s make one to fit our role. Yuck.
And why tf is her phone like comically large?!
Eyewitness Blues?!? SERIOUSLY? I’m watching this episode now and I don’t know how it ends, but the title is what she was saying in the opening?’ Nooooooooooooooo there’s enough quirky characters and stuff going on to counteract the gruffness of Doc.
If this show goes on I hope like in shows how after pilot and first season attitudes and other things change for characters ex most procedurals when a non cop person comes in to assist pd they are unwelcome, but eventually they like her. Or hopefully she moves away.
And also I’ve been wondering why the Mark cop guy Louisa’s ex has an accent, but seems to be the only one like his mom is from the town. And not to shame the actor, but his veneers are distracting. It’s like uncanny valley when the teeth are several shades whiter from the whites of the eyes.
I like this show conditionally. I’m not sure if I like really like it… I love the leads from past work, characters, chemistry. This show is like 400% not a show I’d recommend or tell a friend I’ve been watching. And I never just sit down to watch, but maybe have it on and do something else.
Man oh man. It was renewed. And there are so many other shows that were canceled way too soon.
