To be clear up front I watched a large portion of ER when it first aired and it was one of my favorites for a long time.
I binged through the first 1.5 seasons of The Pitt in 2 days and was very blown away to the point that it’s about to crack my top 10.
I decided, what the hell, I’ll rewatch ER, and I’m shocked by just how slow it is. A fucking doctor is sleeping in a broom closet, patients are supposedly critical and the surgeon take his sweet time gowning up and preparing for surgery. They have time for breaks. The give standard American times instead of 24 hour time, the medical terminology is basic. They barely show any blood and when they do it’s after the operation. I do get it aired on broadcast tv but this was during the 90s when rules were much more relaxed than they are now.
I’m honestly kinda shocked the same writers for ER are involved with The Pitt.
