I love a good score. It can add so much emotion and significance to a scene.
But Paradise uses it incessantly.
The ethereal ambient chords, the little crescendo that punctuates the end of each scene, the pulsing bass. All very cool sounding, but overused. It gives every scene tension so there’s never any room to let the show breathe. It’s just continuous jumping from one urgent scene to another urgent scene. It becomes so distracting.

There are some seriously poignant scenes that would have been more powerful had there been no music so we could just focus on the moment.
