I ran a large post on r/heatedrivalry asking people to nominate their favorite “perfect gem” series from network or streaming. The perfect gem quality means that the fantastic writing, acting, directing, production, and the heart of the show runner all blend together perfectly into a powerful whole, no matter the genre.
Below are the results of the top 80 suggestions in rough order of popularity from the post, culled from about 500 comments on the post. Obviously this is influenced by the fact that everyone there is a supporter of Heated Rivalry, so it’s not just a general series to watch list. Heated Rivalry itself belongs on the list but can’t really be ranked because the whole subreddit is about that show.
