What are people’s favourite and least favourite finals? Mine are, in no particular order, from the top of my head…
The best (The criteria was based on delivery and setup):
• The Good Place - Not my favourite show or anything but the final season was great and the final episode is perfect. 10/10
• Daredevil (Netflix series) - Season 3 is perfect all the way through. 10/10
• The Penguin (not official that their will be another series) - Perfect all the way through. 10/10
• New Girl (A bit of an outlier compared to the other shows when it comes to overall quality) - Although nothing groundbreaking, it delivers everything I wanted and ended with a consistent final season and episode. 10/10
• Full Metal Alchemist BrotherHood - Loved every second. 10/10.
The Worst (The criteria was shows that destroyed it all):
• GOT - …1/10
• Merlin - Genuinely thought for years that the final I watched was a prank episode but was disappointed to find out their was no “true final”. 1/10
• Umbrella Academy - The field is so weird to look at. 1/10
Summary - Finals to me are the most important but also hardest part of a TV show, to the point that I think most series finale’s end up mid or slightly below mid with very few reaching high which is a shame however, it is so great when we get a high.
